Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition and health science to enable individuals to maximise their health potential. Nutritional therapy can help alleviate a wide range of conditions and support recovery from ill health.

Nutritional therapy practitioners recognise that each person is an individual with unique dietary and nutritional requirements. These requirements depend on a number of factors, ranging from inherited strengths and weaknesses to lifestyle and environment. Nutritional therapy practitioners work with the client to assess nutritional status and functional capacity in order to manage chronic health problems and advise on disease prevention.

The practitioner will take a comprehensive client history, and may use biochemical and other types of clinical assessment to formulate an individualised nutritional therapy programme.

Inappropriate diet, stress, poor digestion, malabsorption, and inadequate toxin elimination can manifest in many symptoms of ill-health and disease. The nutritional therapist will work with the individual to achieve a tailored approach in order to promote control over their own health outcomes.

Nutritional therapy can work well alongside other therapies and orthodox medical treatment.

The consultation process

All consultations take place online.

Before your appointment you will be asked to complete and return a case history form and food and drink diary. Completing these beforehand allows Lesley to make the most of your consultation time.

Your first nutritional therapy session will take approximately an hour and a quarter. At this appointment Lesley will clarify the terms of engagement with you; including any agreements you wish to make with regards to contact with other health professionals (e.g. your GP, or other therapists).

Follow-up appointments last up to one hour and are 4-6 weeks later in order to monitor progress and modify recommendations if required.

Contact Lesley to book a free discovery call to talk about your health concerns and goals, and establish if this is the right approach for you. Lesley offers a range of nutritional therapy packages and can discuss the best option for you. Packages start at £400 for a 12-week programme.

Testing may be recommended in order to build a clearer picture of your current health. The tests can usually be carried out in your own home and will be processed by private laboratories. These will incur an additional charge paid directly to the laboratory. All tests are entirely optional.

At the end of the consultation you will provided with a set of recommendations. Email and telephone support is included as part of the nutrition packages.

Additional services

Educational group sessions for friends and families can also be arranged. Why not talk to Lesley about receiving advice on healthy eating for the family, understanding food labels and how to get the best out of your food shop.
